Parts Ordering Advice for Aerial Work Platforms

When an aerial work platform in your rental fleet is down, pressure is put on the service tech to get it back up and running as quickly as possible. Identifying and ordering the parts needed to complete a repair is the first step in getting a machine back out on rent, so it’s important to make sure you’re ordering everything you need the first time.

To simplify ordering parts for Genie® lift equipment, the website offers easy parts lookup and identification to help you get exactly what you need.

To begin, you’ll have a choice between searching for parts by model or by specific parts number. If you don’t know exactly what part number you need, it’s important to know your machine’s model and serial number.

Ordering parts without of these two identifiers may lead to you looking at a similar model that may not use the same parts. If you’re not sure what options or engine your machine is equipped with, use the website’s configuration tool to help determine the machine’s specific configuration or call the Genie Customer Service number — 800-536-1800.

Searching by model number

Once you’re on the site, you have a choice between searching for parts by model or by specific parts number. When you chose to use the Smart Parts Lookup System, you’ll be guided through a series of questions that will lead to you a parts list and diagram for the various components and systems of each machine. You can select the parts you need from the list or simply click on the appropriately numbered circle from a diagram.

If you already know the numbers of the parts you need, select the search by parts option. From here all you have to do is enter the number in the appropriate field and click search. You will direct to detailed information about that particular part. Be sure your specific machine model is on the accompanying list of models that part is used on.

Having your parts manual open and ready prior to calling is useful as well. Often, it helps the Genie staff figure out where you are quickly, or trace out if you’ve made an error. It’s especially helpful when you’re trying to find an obsolete part that requires upgrades.
