    So how did you manage to get the stability to travel at full height: more mass in the base or larger footprint?

      Hi Mike – stability in a scissor lift can be achieved in a number of ways, including growing the footprint dimensions and increasing chassis weight. You’ll notice in comparison to the Genie GS-3246, which is the next largest Genie slab scissor, the GS-4047 has a slightly wider machine width at 47 inches, versus the 46 inch wide GS-3246. Additionally, the GS-4047 is approximately 1,000 lbs. heavier than the GS-3246. This slightly wider and heavier chassis ensures the required stability for smooth and comfortable operation, even while driving at 40 feet.
